Individuals Spanked in Championship

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

The Individuals’ season came to an unfortunate end last night with a 7-0 loss agains the Ice Dogs.  The Individuals hung with them early but by midway through the second period, the game was already decided.  The individuals finished the season 3-2.

The ice was of the worst quality that I’ve ever seen. The ice was being removed for the summer today, and we think they may have turned off the cooling system last night.  By the end of the third period the ice was rather slushy, and the puck wasn’t moving well.  Further supporting this no-cooling theory was the fact that after the Individuals’ game, when the Zambonied the rink for the next game, they didn’t even put down new water, but rather just scaped the ice and removed the slush.  They propably took off a good quarter inch that way.

Don’t worry: there is a legal definition of Maple Sirup

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006

I know I’ve been posting a lot of random stuff lateley, and it’s mainly because I’m trying to avoid working on my paper, but I just found the FDA individual restrictions on Maple Sirup, and what can be labeled under that that name.  It’s under 21 CFR Part 168 “Sweeteners and Table Sirups”.  And to think, the ancient Hebrew people got by with only 10 commandments.

Let’s look at the government, one more time

I understand that the government doesn’t really have to sell themselves to anyone, but they could try a little harder. Come on, the rainbow-bar separator looks like something straight out of 1995.

Guidant legal troubles

Monday, May 1st, 2006

I was googling Guidant for a paper I’m writing for my BADM class, and I was impressed to note that all of the google adds for the topic related to lawyers offering to help you with your Guidant lawsuit.  Guidant has had several recalls of several of their product lines over the last year or two, and apparently people are lining up to sue them.  Kind of sad.  I almost interned at Guidant, and from what their company presentation seemed to show, they really prided themselves on helping people as part of their daily work.
