Home owning teenager
Katy has been suffering from a bit of age discrimination lately. It started early this week when she went to purchase The Chronicles of Riddick on DVD from Walmart. When she got up the checkout, the clerk asked to see her ID. The movie is rated R, so you have to be 17 to buy it, but Katy is 23, so she just stared at him blankly and asked “Are you serious?” But sure enough, before he would let her buy the DVD, she had to show her driver’s license.
The second incident came later this week when Katy answered the door for a person selling cleaning supplies. The first thing he asked was “Is your mom home?” Katy can at least be thankful that she has a few years to go before she gets to that age where she wishes she was younger.

This exact same thing happened to me when I attempted to see Hostel 2. The clerk asked to see my ID. I am 22 years old and I guess a possibility existed that I was

Yeah, a 26 year old friend of mine got carded when going to an R movie a couple weeks ago as well. He had just shaved off his beard, so maybe that leaves the skin with a baby faced look.
I haven’t been carded for anything other than alcohol in years. I still usually get carded at bars/restaurants, but not necessarily at liquor stores. Depends what you’re buying.

I wasn’t sure how to tell you (couldn’t find contact info on your “About” page), but the page on which one leaves a comment is messed up in Opera (9.21, running on Vista). The sidebar with Categories etc. shows up centered right on top of the Comments textbox.

I’ve been feeling that way a bit lately too. Especially with a new job (I’ve heard a lot of “young lady”s or similar) and buying the house we just moved into. No cardings yet, but it is still annoying.
